Sproughton Community Shop opened its doors today although the grand opening is on Saturday morning. I was delighted to find that the shop had been very busy. They are stocking plenty of local produce which was selling like hot cakes. I was pleased to see that the chiller cabinet was stocked to the brim with sausages, quiches, bacon, etc. This was purchased from my county grants’ budget.
Ros Lavington has been amazing in the way she has managed to get grants totalling more than £200,000 for renovation of the Tithe Barn and fitting out of the Community Shop. The shop will be a huge asset to the village. Ros also won an individual award at the Greenest County event and she and husband Simon were recently given Babergh Community Achievement Awards. They have certainly made a major contribution to the life of the village.
